All the activities for today's world book day are going to be on the fantastic book 'Billionaire boy!'
During the course of today we're going to read the story and carry out some really interesting and exciting activities!
When Joe Spud and his Father come to terms with how amazingly rich they both are they decide to start acting like it! First of all, Joe changes school and transfers to 'St. Cuthberts'- an extremely posh school! The lessons at St. Cuthberts are slightly different to the ones we have at Westwood to say the least! Have a look at the pictures to find out his timetable...
A whole lesson on how to talk posh!?
ACTIVITY 1 (9:00):
This morning you're going to create your own school day! You can chose what lessons there are, when the lessons are and make it as interesting and different as you like! If you can find anyone at home to help, you could even pretend to be the teacher for one of these lessons! Make sure you video it too and send it to the class email. Underneath, there is a template where you can write your timetable for your unique school day.
Mr Spud made billions of pounds by inventing an extremely unique type of toilet paper! It was called 'Freshbum'. The rest of the world loved his idea that much that 1,000,000,000 of his loo rolls were sold everyday! He became an instant billionaire. If Mr Spud can think of an idea that simple and it made him all that money, I'm sure you can do just as good of a job!
ACTIVITY 2 (10:30):
You're going to create your own invention this morning! You need to think of:
-An exciting, unique idea.
-An interesting, eye-catching logo for your product.
-A business plan, how are you going to get people to buy your new invention?
-An exciting advert to encourage people to buy your invention!
Below there are some images of famous logos you could use for inspiration and documents to put your business plan, logo and advert on!
Once you have created your business you could film yourselves selling your product to someone at home! Your very own version of dragon's den! Watch the video below.
Joe Spud had everything in the world including exotic animals, race cars, a waterpark in his garden, a theme park, £100,000 pocket money each week and a 100 inch plasma screen T.V! However, he wasn't happy because he didn't have the one thing he really wanted...
ACTIVITY 3 (13:00):
I want you to think really hard about two things this afternoon!
The first thing is all of the things you really want including any new toys, games consoles, animals or anything else you might think of!
The second thing I want you to think about is anything that you already have that makes you happy! This might be family, friends, pets or anything else!
Once you have thought of all of these things, I want you to split up a piece of paper into two sections and one side you're going to draw pictures of all the things you really want (1) and on the other side you're going to draw pictures of all the things that already make you really happy! I want you then to keep this picture as a reminder that even though you don't have the things on one side that you want, you're still happy because of all the things on the other side of your sheet. Make your sheet as colourful and bright as you can!
Underneath, there are some ideas of what your piece might look like.
