Comparative and Fair Testing
As part of our science agreement with the children at Westwood, each half term's science topic has to have a full investigation which is hands on, fun and allows them to explore the answers for themselves. This is how Comparative and Fair Testing progresses through the school.
In Upper Key Stage 2, the children linked their Wartime Adventure in with their science learning. After finding out about The Blackout in a history lesson, they were then tasked with investigating which materials would be best to ensure no light was escaping from the classroom.
The Upper Key Stage 2 Children also investigated refraction. They used their prior knowledge of reflection from Year 3 and thought about what this new term could mean. They then conducted an investigation to see how the direction of the arrow changed in different situations.
