Examples of work EarlyYears

2020 - 2021

In Early Years the children have been learning about how to use Ipads to access Mini Mash, the Early Years area on Purple Mash.

Mini Mash links the appropriate resources on Purple Mash to the areas of learning and development from the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (2012).

The children have been learning to find their way around Mini Mash and have loved using it to enhance their development across the Early Years curriculum. The fun and colourful activities keep the children engaged in and enthusiastic about their learning

Autumn

Here are Ash and Birch class enjoying using the Ipads to practice number recognition and counting using the 2Count app.

Spring

This first week of term the children have been learning about New Year’s Eve and how we usually celebrate it.

They had lots of fun using Purple Mash to make some terrific New Year’s Eve firework displays and they were able to count how many of each colour they had added.

Summer 1

This half term the children's Adventure will take place in the Rainforest where they will be meeting lots of exciting new creatures, and finding out about their habitat.

They have been learning all about the thousands of multi-coloured and multi-patterned types of Tree Frogs that live in the Rainforest, and have used their imaginations and creative skills to invent some super additions to the Tree frog population!

The children have been preparing tropical fruit salads in DT so they have used their data handling skills to create pictograms of some of the fruit they used.

The children have also shown some excellent skills in using spreadsheets. They created some super Zoos showing how they can add colours, images and words to cells.

Summer 2

This half term the children have been loving their Pirate Adventure!

They used Purple Mash to create some super treasure maps.
