KS1
KS1 made some brilliant pieces of work using different mechanisms including sliders, pivots and levers. They researched the different types of mechanism and chose the best one for their design. The children then designed their product and had a go at using some of the mechanisms. They then made their final design and evaluated them. Some children said they need some way of fixing the slider so it doesn’t fall off the page.
The children started their new sketch books for the first time and were given a little bit more freedom with how the books were set out. They allowed the children to make their own mechanisms and explore different designers.
