‘g-g-girl’
Today the sounds is ‘g’ 

You day ‘g-g-g- girl’ 

 

I have an activity for you:- 

You will need post it’s or paper and sticky tape.

Draw as many things as you can beginning with ‘g’. Now draw some things that don’t begin with the sound ‘g’. 
Ask your parent / brother or sister to stick them around the house in places  you can find. 
You have 1 minute to find all the items beginning with ‘g’. 

Next you have 1 minute to sound out and write as many of the pictures as you can on the back of your pieces of paper / post it’s. 

 

‘o-o-o orange’ - ‘all around the orange’ 

 

Todays sound is ‘o’

ostrich 

olive 

on

octopus 

 

See if you can find any of these in your house! 
 

Have a go at writing ‘o’ on a white board.

Say o-o-o - all around the orange

 

’o’ often appears in the middle of words or at the beginning. 
 

Have a go at writing the following words on paper / outside with chalks 

 

got 

pot 

on

pond

orange 

 

All these words contain ‘o’ 

Can you put some of these words into a sentence? 

 

‘c-c-c caterpillar’ 

Todays sound is ‘c’ 

 

Can you draw the following: 

caterpillar 

cat

coat

cup 

Let’s sound these words out 

c-a-t

c-u-p etc ..

Can you write these words using ‘curl around the caterpillar’. 
 

Take a paintbrush and a jar of water outside and try and write as many words as you can on paving or the pavement. 

‘k,k,k - kangaroo -  down the kangaroos body tail and leg’ 

 

Say ‘k,k,k - kangaroo’

 

Imagine: 

Kangaroo flying a kite having a Kit Kat.

Sound out the following - 

k- i - t 

k - i - p 

k - a - n - g - a - r - oo 

 

Can you jump like a kangaroo?

 

Have a go at writing ‘k’ - down the kangaroos body, tail and leg.
