In reading we are looking at the Story about Max the Hedgehog who wants to get across the road to go to the park.
On your next walk when you need to cross the road think about all the things you need to do to cross the road safely.
Then discuss this with an adult and create your own instructions telling Max how to cross the road safely.
Remember to include a title, number each step and use conjunctions (for example and, but, when, if, so , because) to extend each step.
I have included some examples of instructions below to remind you how to lay them out.
We have been learning about Max and his adventure to get to the park. This week I would like you to come up with your own adventure story about an animal of your choice. So today I would like you to draw a picture of your main character and label it to show what he or she looks like, but also to tell me about their character. For example, are they brave or scared, funny or sensible, loud or quiet.
Today I want you to plan your story. Where is your character going and why. What problem will they face and how will they get home.
Use a piece of paper and split it into 6 squares (see picture below). Then draw a picture in each square to sequence the story.
Thursday and Friday
Now it is time for you to write your stories. Use your plan from yesterday to help you. Remember to use lots of adjectives to describe what is happening. Take your time, form your letters correctly and use full stops and capital letters. I can't wait to read them.
