At Westwood we value culture and the arts and understand that children need to be exposed to different types of Music, Drama and Dance. 

Below Yr 2 are having a workshop on African drumming as part of their adventure based around Africa which was a huge success.

Key stage 2 children attended the Leeds Big Sing event at Pudsey Civic Hall. We learnt lots of christmas songs before we performed them in a showcase at the end of the day!

Today year 5 and year 6 went to the Big Samba!! The children loved using the samba instruments they have been practicing with all half term, and performing in front of the other schools. It was a great event! 

Key stage 1 had a visit from a Music Artist who uses animal noises and instruments to make music. He used his laptop to change the pitch, tempo and layer the sounds. The children loved listening to their final piece!

Year 5 received an invitation from Cockburn high school to watch their performance of Rock of Ages. We loved being able to see the stage in action and the talent on the students.
