Welcome to Class 3/4!
Hello! Welcome back to an extremely exciting year in class 3/4. We have some exceptionally thrilling adventures for this year and we can’t wait to get started.
We have already begun to plan an adventure to Greece and its islands. We’ve made our passports, packed our suitcases and are researching where we would like to explore.
Come and have a look out our scrap book to see what we’ve been up to on our adventures and keep your eyes peeled for days where we will invite family in to see all our hard work.
If you have any questions, concerns or just want a quick chat, please come and see Miss Martin, Mrs Popplewell or Mrs Jackson at any time.
Every Friday your child will come home with a spelling book, a times table book, a homework book, a reading record book and a reading book.
ALL these books need to be in your childs book bag and brought back to school on a Thursday.
Spellings – Spellings are on a 2 week rotation. They will be stuck in your childs spelling book, and highlighted if they got them correct. Please practice any that have not been highlighted on the second week.
Timestables – Your child will have a sticker on the times tables that they have completed in the front of their books. Please practice these at home so that they can climb the mountain.
Homework – Your child will receive a piece of maths homework every week and a project to complete. If they complete 10 pieces of homework they will receive a prize.
Reading – Your child will be given a new reading book every Friday. Please make sure you read this book with your child and sign their reading record book every week.
As we are a mixed class and the year 4’s go swimming on a Monday, the two year groups have slightly different P.E times.
The Year 3s will have P.E every Monday and Friday.
The Year 4s will have P.E every Friday.
Please make sure you have your PE kits on these days every week.
Your PE kit should include:
Black shorts or black joggings bottoms (not branded or with a logo).
Plain white t-shirt (not branded or with a logo).
Black or white socks.
A pair of trainers (these must only be worn for the P.E lesson).
As it is a requirement through the national curriculum all of our year 4s will take part in swimming lessons this year.
This will take place every Monday morning and is only for the year 4s.
Please make sure your swimming kit is washed and ready to use every Monday.
