Themed Days and Trips

Today we celebrated Roald Dahl day in school. The children looked at the art of Quentin Blake and recreated the BFG scene where he met the Queen. We then used watercolour to get the faded style of his illustrations.

Today was World Mental Health Day. We dressed in yellow and spent lots of time dicussing feelings, how to deal with feelings and what to do when our feelings get a little too big.

Today we had a visit from a Judo trainer who did a tasting session with us. We enjoyed learning the different positions and the rules of Judo.

We had an amazing time at our school History Fair! Our parents came in and we celebrated all our work from this half term. We took pictures, played games and even had a go at archery!

Today we visited Cockburn to watch their performance of Rock of Ages! We loved seeing what the school had to offer and the amazing talent of the students.

Today was TimesTable Rockstar day! We dressed up as rockstars and had an opportunity to practice our times table on the rockstar app. We looked great and ended up with a record number of passes during our timestable tests!

We took a trip to Leeds Playhouse to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The children loved seeing the costume, set and incredible actors.

Today was number day and we celebrated this in our Maths lesson. We designed our own board games and played against our partners. The children dressed in their own clothes and made a donation towards the NSPCC.

We had an amazing time during Poetry Week. We worked with a poet who helped us write our own poems which we then performed to the school. The children learnt about the importance of expression, projection and diction; these being performance skills we will need for our end of year show!

Our parents came in today to see our work and watch our poetry performance. It was lovely to share our hard work from the last term with everyone.

We are very excited to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. We have come dressed in red, white and blue to show our support.

Dressed to celebrate the coronation!

We have had a fantasic afternoon celebrating. We made fruit kebabs, did some coronation colouring and had a picnic outside in the sun. It's been a brilliant day!!

We loved reading Harry Potter with our parents in the sunshine.

We had a fantastic time at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. We walked, talked, admired and drew. Sculptures are very interesting - and very different.
