We will be having assembly at 2.30pm this afternoon again, please remember to log in! I haven't had loads of shoutouts this week so keep them coming in this morning for the assembly!

Guided Reading - live on Teams at 10.30am

Today, we're going to be starting to think about our writing for next week by reading a short story. In the live lesson, I'll read the story to the children and we'll talk about the tasks I'd like them to do. The first task is to identify the 4 main parts of the story:

Opening and build up

Problem

Solution

Ending

For each section, I'd like you to visualise what is happening at that stage of the story and draw what you think the scene is on the story mountain. Then, have a look at the first page of questions. It's like we did yesterday where you need to skim and scan the text to find the right information. Have a go at answering those questions on that first page too.

Science - anytime

Look through the muscles PowerPoint below to find out about them. Then, I'd like you to think of 3 different PHYSICAL activities you could do to try and see which muscles you're using. Choose an activity (there are some ideas below) and then predict which muscles you'll use to do it. Will you use your leg muscles? Arms? Feet? Hands? Once you've predicted, you need to do the activity and think really carefully about what muscles you're using - you should know which ones because they might start to hurt a bit. Then, go back to your diagram and work out which muscles you did actually use. Are they the same as what you predicted? Send us some pictures of you doing the activities!

Writing - live on Teams at 1pm

We're going to finish our instructions today. In the live lesson, I'll show you some conclusions and we'll discuss which ones are good and which ones not so good and why. Then this afternoon, I'd like you to make sure your instructions are totally finished. You can also add a picture or diagram to the instructions too which will then make sure you have done all of the things on our checklist. I also have some exciting news to share with you too in writing!

Music - anytime

Parents - I sent an email on Wednesday afternoon about us doing a 'virtual' performance of 'Three Little Birds' by Bob Marley. If you can film your child either singing or doing a dance to 10 seconds of the song and send it me as soon as possible, that would be brilliant so I can start editing it together. This will cover our music objective for his half term as well as be something nice which the children can keep as a memento of their time in Mulberry class during lockdown. I want the outcome to be similar to the one the staff did in lockdown 1! They can do it with siblings/parents and can make it as silly as they want and get dressed up but it would be great if we could get as many back as we can!

Maths - live on Teams at 9.15am

My group are going to look at some word problems today which are a bit tricky and we're going to look at breaking them down and using our column method of addition and subtraction which we're getting really good at to answer the problems! I'll also be introducing your time table challenge on the live lesson...
