Roald Dahl Day

We had an amazing time celebrating Roald Dahl’s birthday in Lower Key Stage 2! The day started with a whole school quiz assembly where the children beat the teachers!! We then got to work with our different activities. With George (aka Mr Cooper) we designed and made our own marvellous medicines. There was lots of fizzing and strange colours going on in the classroom.

With Willy Wonka (aka Mr Ashford) we designed chocolate rappers and made chocolate using cocoa and the traditional methods. They tasted, interesting! And with Fantastic Mr Fox (aka Mr Hayes) we designed life size characters from the book and worked in groups to create different body parts. We ended the day with another assembly where everybody shared their Roald Dahl work.

Thank you to Mr Ashford, our wonderful reading leader, for a brilliant day and a big thank you to parents and carers for so much effort into the amazing outfits!!
