Welcome to Class 5/6W!

smiley

Welcome back to Westwood, I hope you have all had a brilliant half term! We have had a great first half term back and the children have finished their first adventure of the year: Our Mysterious Mayan Mission! The children in 5/6W have already produced some fantastic work for our newest adventure and should be extremely proud of themselves for having such a positive attitude towards their learning.

Our adventure for this half term

Our second adventure of the year is called 'A Wartime Tale'. We are going to be helping out two children, Edwin and Nancy, who live in 1940's London and learn about all the changes in their lives since the outbreak of war. So far we have heard Neville Chamberlain (the Prime Minister) give his speech to the nation, learned all about the different types of bomb shelters and helped to explain rationing to our new friends. What other changes might this dreadful war bring about for poor Nancy and Edwin? To see just what we have been doing, you can check the Wartime Tale link below.
