The nursery team

Class Teachers - Mrs Kitching and Mrs Gray

Teaching Assistants - Mrs Caradice, Mrs Norton, Miss Robson, Mrs Wood and Miss Kirk.

My name is Mrs Kitching and I am the teacher for the first half of the week, so Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. 

My name is Mrs Gray and I am the teacher for the second half of the week, so Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday.

Our teaching assistants are called Mrs Caradice, Mrs Norton, Miss Robson, Mrs Wood and Miss Kirk.

Summer 2 

This is our last half term of the year  before we finish for our summer break and we have a great one planned.  Our theme is ‘Yo ho ho,  a pirating we go!’ 
We will be sharing different books around the pirate theme,  building pirate ships, making telescopes, pirate hats and eye patches.  Outside we will be imagining and role playing, and will build ships, walk the plank and try to escape the huge mouths of sharks!  

Summer 1

The new topic for this half term is 'Rainforest Rumble.' We will be exploring the different environments and how different animals live in the Rainforest. We will be reading lots of lovely books all about the rainforest. We will be going on our own safari in the outdoor area of nursery and using binoculars that we have made ourselves. We will continue to practise writing our names and singing lots of rainforest songs. We cannot wait and we hope you can't either! 

Spring 2

Our new topic this half term is 'Growing.' We are very excited for this topic and cannot wait to get planting and exploring lots of different root vegetables and fruits. We will be planting our own sunflowers and watching them grow. We might even try to grow some tomatoes! We will also be exploring what plants need in order to grow. 

Spring 1

We are so excited for our new topic which is called 'Dino Discovery'. We are going to be finding a dinosaur egg in the Nursery garden and figure out what is inside. We are going to be practising writing our names and starting to learn phonics! We will also be finding dinosaur bones in sand and trying to break them from the ice! We are so excited for this topic and we know lots of you will be too. 

We are welcoming some new starters into Nursery too and we know you will all be very welcoming and include them in your play!

We will make sure you have lots of fun in our class bubble and we cannot wait to get started. We're sure you can't wait to start either. 

Our first topic this term is 'Into the Woods...' where we will be exploring bears and woodland animals and reading lots of lovely stories such as We're going on a bear hunt and That's not my teddy. We will also be focusing on settling your children in and getting them used to their new environment where we hope they feel safe, settled and ready to explore.
