   Bonjour et bienvenue!

Welcome back everyone to another new year at Westwood! We are so excited to be moving forward with our wonderful new approach to teaching French and celebrating other languages and cultures here at Westwood. Children will be learning French at least once a week every week in Key Stage 2, enjoying interactive and immersive learning. Alongside the new teaching approach we are planning opportunities for experiences and celebrations of French culture and language.

Our bespoke scheme of work based on the respected Sue Cave Languages scheme and adapted for our children here at Westwood. The new scheme will include rhymes and stories to bring learning for life. Each term children will learn about a new region of France or French speaking country.

While French is the core language we teach here at Westwood we are looking forward to introducing short taster lessons in other languages, linking to and supporting learning on class adventures.
