Adventure 3 - Space Rescue
As we leave Ted behind, we begin a new adventure - this time, we are going in to space! There have been some cheeky aliens causing chaos on the different planets and it is our job as space troopers to stop them! Can we stop them before they cause even more havoc?
Our Class Song...
When we arrived back at school, Mr Cockcroft showed us CCTV from the holidays and we saw a UFO in our playground! We went upstairs to the hall to find out what happened and found where the aliens crash landed! They even left us a note saying that they were off to cause trouble on the next planet!

Aliens in school!

We knew we had to get to space, but none of us could drive a spaceship so we wrote an advert asking for people to apply for the role of captain for our mission.
It was now time to interview our potential new captains. We had three candidates, Queen Elizabeth 2nd, Alexander Bell and Neil Armstrong. We asked them lots of important question and decided that Neil was the best person for the job!
Those pesky aliens have ruined our maps of the school! We needed them to fly to space. We looked at human and physical features and what this meant.

We looked at who the first person on the moon was and found out that it was Neil Armstrong. We watched a video of him landing on the moon and learnt about what he said when he arrived. We then acted it out. Watch our videos of it below!

In Art we had a go at drawing our own rockets. We think they turned out amazingly!

We are off to our first Planet - Planet Escape! We left our spaceship and went to investigate what the cheeky aliens had done. When we got back, we found our spaceship covered in locks. The aliens had left us riddles to solve with parts of a key at each one. We had to put the key back together in order to get in to our spaceship and go to the next planet!

We looked at Van Goghs starry night picture. We then created our own individual collage of it, when we put them together they looked great!

We looked at positional language. We had to hid a teddy around school and then tell our partner where it was using positional language. We had lots of fun doing it!

In Music we looked at long and short sounds. We picked out percussion instruments and came up with our own pieces of music!

We looked at the story of the Good Samaritan. We thought about why it is important to be nice to everyone and then retold the story.

This weekend are off to Planet Grub! For our writing hook we tried different space food. Some of us thought the food was delicious but others weren't as keen!

We have been looking at different ways in which we can travel in PE. We had lots of fun with Mrs Burke!

In History we looked at what happened at The Great Fire of London. We talked about who Samuel Pepys is and why he is important. We then made our own houses and burnt them outside to see how the Great Fire started.

In Art we had a go at making our own Great Fire of London pictures.
This morning we found we had a letter from the aliens. They said they wanted to be friends. They had left us clues to find them outside and said if we did find them then they would stop causing trouble! We couldn't find them at all so came inside to find our classroom had been trashed by them! They had tricked us!

We then played a wizard word game where we had to match the pictures to the word. We then wrote a sentence with each of the previously taught wizard words in!
We had an editing station lesson today! We started off by playing a capital letter matching activity. We then had to fill in the missing adjective from a sentence and highlighted WAGOLL.
In RSHE we looked at our feelings and how we can manage them. We talked about how important it is to open up to other people and let them know if you are feeling a certain way as they can most likely help you!
