Science Week 2022
We had so muchs fun showing the whole school and their parents what we've been learning I'm Science.
Roald Dahl Day 2021
On Friday 17th September, Westwood celebrated the fantastic work of the legendary author, Roald Dahl. In Lower Key Stage 2, each class spent some time with each of the teachers doing lots of different activities. With Mr Hayes, the children did some drama based around Fantastic Mr Fox, with Mr Ashford the children made a fox out of a paper plate and with Mr Cooper, the children made Snozzcumbers from The BFG.
The day was completed with a whole school assembly where we took part in a Roald Dahl quiz the the teachers beat the children (Miss Clive thinking the famous Roald Dahl book was called The Twists nearly lost it for us!). Thank you to Mr Ashford, our amazing Reading leader, for a great day!
Halloween Disco 2021 💀👻🎃
All of the children looked brilliant in their costumes tonight at the Halloween disco and had a great time having a dance and playing the games. Thank you everyone for coming and to the wonderful Mrs Russell for organising!
Times Table Rockstar Day
Wednesday 3rd November was Times Table Rockstar Day at Westwood as we officially re-launched Times Tables across the school. Mrs Partridge hosted our assembly with the help of her Y6 rockstars (literally!) before we went off to have a go at all things times tables! In Oak, we played on TTRS, played other games to do with times tables and went on a huge TT treasure hunt around school.
KEEP PRACTICING THOSE TIMES TABLES AT HOME TO EARN POINTS IN THE CLASS COMPETITIONS, ENGLAND COMPETITION AND TO GET INTO THE WESTWOOD HALL OF FAME!
Number Day 2022
Westwood participated in Number Day on Friday 4th February, raising money for the NSPCC. The Maths Magician visited us and did a great workshop and assembly for the children. Back in class, we did lots of number based puzzles, quizzes and we researched famous mathematicians and created fact files on Purple Mash.
