In Year Two, children begin learning about temperature by reading and estimating temperature. 

Children do not return to temperature until Year Five where they build on their previous knowledge by telling the temperature with a thermometer. In other year groups, children develop their understanding of temperature through topics such as negative numbers and reading tables.
