Adventure 3 - Shiver Me Timbers

This half term we are sailing around the world with Christopher Columbus! We are hoping to find an undiscovered place that no one has been to. We will be using our navigation skills with a compass and maybe even some stars! Let’s hope we don’t run into any pirates…

Our adventure has started this term with a special challenge from our history lead, Mr Cooper! We can’t wait to find out more about Christopher Columbus!

Today it was King’s day in France. We celebrated by doing a tradition. We all took a pice of cake and who ever found the bean would be King or Queen for the day. Our Queen for the day was Sara! We had so much fun!

Today in History we learnt about who Christopher Columbus is! We then decided to use the facts and made a fact file!

In geography, we have been learning about maps. We looked at at atlases to find out the 7 continents. Here is us looking through and exploring the atlases.

In RE, we looked at what it looks like to care for someone and who we care about. We each designed a hand which showed someone we cared about and then we turned it into a tree for our classroom. We had so much fun making them!

On Friday, it was rockstar day! Here are some of our rockstars from Blossom class!

Today in history we learnt about what Christopher Columbus did to the Native Americans. We then decided if he was a hero or not.

This week we had a poetry week this week and worked with Chris! It was so much fun!

Today we had a special visitor who taught us all about road safety! We thought about how we can cross the road safely and how to be safe in a car. We had so much fun and learnt lots.

In PE we were learning about target games. We started by practicing our balance and then practiced different throwing techniques. We then looked at underarm techniques so we could control our throwing better.

In science, we have been looking at the different parts of the human body. We listened to a song and then labelled the different body parts. After that, we looked at two different senses, sight and taste. We had so much fun leading each other with blind folds on around a maze. We also had lots of fun trying different food and looking at our taste buds.

In art we were learning about mixing colours. We had lots of fun.

On number day we did lots of fun activities and we came in our own clothes with numbers. We had so much fun.

In DT this half term, we made our very own moving pictures. We learnt about the different types of moving mechanisms and then made our own. We did such a good job.
