Making Music
KS1

In KS1 our children learn how to create their own digital tunes.
They begin by using 2Explore and 2Beat which enable them:
- To compare music made using computers and music played by real instruments.
- To explore mixing the sounds of different instruments
- To compose a tune to match a picture of a scene.
- To compose a beat to match a picture of a scene
They learn how to change the tempo and volume of different instruments to achieve their desired effect.


In Year 2 they use 2Sequence to explore the way that music can be used to express feelings and really enjoy composing a scary tune as well as a happy tune, adding additional sound
effects to improve their work. They learn:
- To explore, edit and combine sounds using 2Sequence.
- To improve a tune and make music based around a feeling.
- To compose background music for a video
KS2

In KS2 our children extend their learning through Busy Beats.

They learn how:
- To identify and discuss the main elements of music.
- To understand and experiment with rhythm and tempo.
- To create a melodic phrase using varied notes and pitch.
- To compose a piece of electronic music
In addition they are able to enjoy learning about different musical genres and composers through interactive games and quizzes.
