In order to limit the number of people coming onto the school grounds during this time only one adult per family is permitted to drop off and collect their children at any one time. As parents are still not allowed to enter the building, if you wish to speak to the Headteacher or a class teacher in person an appointment must be made.
We kindly ask that all adults wear face coverings whilst on the school premises and stay 2 metres distance from other families. We also ask that everyone familiarises themselves with pick up and drop off for all children in every year group.
While on site we ask that social distancing is maintained. It is really important that during these drop off and pick up times that the social distancing rule of 2 meters is followed. Outside each class entrance there will be a 2 meter marking from the door, it is at this point, you must leave your child. All class teachers will be by their classroom entrance. If your child is bringing themselves to school, please can you talk to them about adhering to the social distancing rules. Teachers will be wearing masks when stood by entrance points.
Surname initial | Drop off time | Pick-up time |
A to M | 8:50am | 3:10pm |
N to Z | 9:00am | 3:20pm |
P.E
Both Year 3 and Year 4 children will normally have 1 P.E lesson a week with Mr Frankland or Mr Cooper. The day of this changes weekly, therefore children need to have their P.E kit in school everyday. P.E kits can be taken home at the end of each half term to be washed.
Swimming
Year 4 children go swimming every Monday. Children need to arrive at school with their swimming kit on under their uniform and underwear and a towel in a bag.
Please note: Swimming does NOT take place the last week before and the first week after a 2 week half term holiday.
Homework
Homework will be sent out on a Friday. This should be returned to school the following Tuesday.
Spellings
After re-assessing all of the children on their return to school, we have decided to change the way spellings work in year 3/4. Your child will now bring home a list of spellings on a Friday for a test the following Thursday. They will then be given a new set for the following week. We will no longer work in 2 week cycles. The spellings may also seem easier. We realise children missed the second half of last year so are ensuring we plug the gaps in their learning and spellings. There will also be a much greater emphasis on spelling and handwriting as part of the writing lessons in school.
Reading books
Reading books will be sent home on a Friday and need to be returned on a Tuesday. Your child will still read with myself every week. We also have Bug Club if your child would like to read additional books during the week.
