Our priority is the safety of all of our children and their families when returning to school. We kindly ask that all adults wear face coverings whilst on the school premises and stay 2 metres distance from other families. We also ask that everyone familiarises themselves with pick up and drop off for all children in every year group.
|Surname initial||Drop off time||Pick-up time|
|A to G||8:45am||3:00pm|
|H to O||8:55am||3:10pm|
|P to Z||9:05am||3:20pm|
Both Year 3 and Year 4 children will normally have P.E on a Friday afternoon with Mr Frankland. However, some weeks this might take place on a different day. For that reason, please make sure your child has their P.E kit in school everyday.
Swimming will return for Year 4 on Monday 30th November 2020!
Due to current COVID restrictions, children are expected to arrive ‘beach ready’ therefore we will expect children to come with swimwear under their school uniform on a Monday. They will then be able to change after their lesson and return to school.
Children will require swimwear to be worn under their uniform and a towel and underwear in a separate bag. Goggles and swimcaps aren’t essential but children are welcome to bring them. School have paid for every child to have their own buoyancy aid (woggle) as we are no longer able to share equipment.
After the initial assessment week some children may be asked to bring arm bands to aid their learning. If that is the case we will provide more information to those parents at the time.
Homework will be sent out on a Friday. This should be returned to school the following Tuesday.
After re-assessing all of the children on their return to school, we have decided to change the way spellings work in year 3/4. Your child will now bring home a list of spellings on a Friday for a test the following Thursday. They will then be given a new set for the following week. We will no longer work in 2 week cycles. The spellings may also seem easier. We realise children missed the second half of last year so are ensuring we plug the gaps in their learning and spellings. There will also be a much greater emphasis on spelling and handwriting as part of the writing lessons in school.
Reading books will be sent home on a Friday and need to be returned on a Tuesday. Your child will still read with myself every week.
