The Viking and Anglo- Saxon struggle for the Kingdom of England to the time of Edward the Confessor
In UKS2, the children learnt all about life in Anglo-Saxon and Viking England. They use their historical enquiry skills to investigate a site which was full of artefacts. They also learnt about the different writing methods and had a go at doing these.
UKS2 also held an Anglo-Saxon day where they cooked Anglo-Saxon style foods, made pots and sketched Viking longships.
The Tremendous Tudors
A study of an aspect or theme in British history that extends pupils’ chronological knowledge beyond 1066: The Tudors
Upper Key Stage 2 began their Tudor adventure with a great day with Catherine! They looked at lots of different sources and tried some of the different games and activities from the Tudor period.
The children carried out an investigation of the Battle of Bosworth. They used a range of sources to investigate where and when the battle occured and also what happened before, during and after the battle.
The children were immersed in Tudor life and they were able to use a quill to write a message.
A Wartime Tale
A study of an aspect or theme in British history that extends pupils’ chronological knowledge beyond 1066: World War Two
The children visited Eden Camp and enjoyed a gfull day exploring the museum. They learnt about many different aspects of the war such as the Blitz, rationing, air raid wardens and shelters and much more. The children had a fun packed day.
