Friday 5th February

Today we are going to continue to tell the time to 5 minute intervals. Have a look at the worksheet below.

We are going to re-read the story 'Mrs Mole, I'm home'. Today we are going to be thinking about what happens at the beginning of the story, the middle of the story and the end of the story. This is called a summary. We write down in our own words what happen in each section of the story. I have broken the story into section and included the pictures for each part of the story to help you.

Can you help Morris with his diary entry of his day trying to get home. He has struggled using the -ed ending on past tense words.

Words like:

  • headed
  • burrowed
  • looked
  • knocked
  • cooked
  • watched
  • jumped
  • helped
  • kissed

Morris is really interested in learning all about Christopher Columbus' past. He can't quite believe some of the things he did! Although Morris had a good sense of direction when he has his glasses on, he has no idea where Spain is. Can you help Morris?

Use the map, atlas and globe to help you.

  1. What continent is it on?
  2. What ocean is it near?
  3.  What is the capital city?
  4. Where is it on the map?
  5. What countries are near it?
