Mental Health and Emotional Well Being

In year 1 children looked  feelings and emotions. They learnt how they can manage them. The children  talked about how important it is to open up to other people and let them know if you are feeling a certain way as they can most likely help you! 

Year 1 and 2 have been learning about how to be a good friend. They learnt playground games and also how to to help friends if they are sad. Here is an example of the ideas children had with regards to being a good friend.

Year 2 have been discussing the special people that are in their lives.

Year 1 and 2 have also being learning about how to deal with grief and what strategies would help them to cope with these emotions.

Year 3 children have read the story Rainbow fish. They related what they learnt in this story to their family and friends. The children thought about the impact kind and unkind words can have on themselves, their friends and their family.

The year 3 children were presented with scenarios and were asked to discuss the actions they would take if they saw these scenarios occurring in real life.

Year 6 have been thinking about life changes and transition to high school. they were given strategies to manage anxiety and worries they might be feeling.
