Adventure 2 - Time Travelling Ted

It’s time for a new adventure! This time, we have found a bear underneath a melting clock. I wonder how he got there and where he came from? It’s our job to find his real home, are you up to the mission?

In RSE we looked at playground games from around the world. We played games from Australia, Chile and Greece. Look at the videos below to see how well we played them!

We have been working hard on our sketching skills. We looked at the artist Salvador Dali and copied one of his famous melting clock designs. 

We were very lucky as we had a visit from Abbey House! They showed us old and new toys and spoke about the difference between the two of them. We had so much fun and got to pretend to be toys too!

In Music we looked at finding the pulse. We learnt that the pulse never changes in a song. We copied the pulse and did different actions to show that we knew it!

In Art we looked at how to use oil pastels. We first thought about how we could smudge them with our fingers and how this can change the way our pictures looked. We then coloured in an old spinning top, to relate back to our topic of old toys. 

In History we looked at new toys and how we can tell when something is new. We then drew a picture of the toys we play with now and spoke about why they were new. 

We wrote an independent piece of writing this week. We wrote a letter to Ted asking if he wants to visit Barbie world to see if he belongs there. We made sure to use our wizard words, capital letters, full stops and connectives!

We looked at the Islamic faith in RE. We thought about where they prayed and what they did there. We learnt about the mosque and why this is a place of importance to Muslims.

In RSE we looked at where we felt we belonged. We spoke about our community and the different clubs we go to.

In RE we learnt about the meaning of Christmas and why Christians celebrate it. We thought about how our nativity was the same story and drew a picture of where Jesus was born.
