5 - A final conclusion about why Lunar should consider us. 

On the live lesson, we will look at an example of what these paragraphs could look like. You can also use the persuasive letter we looked at on Thursday to help you structure this.

1 – A persuasive introduction explaining that you would like her to use our company.

2 – A paragraph explaining everything we have done in this Adventure and how knowledgeable we are about space.

On the live lesson, we will look at an example of what this could look like. You can also use the persuasive letter we looked at yesterday to help you structure this.

We have come to the end of our Adventure and need to write a letter to Lunar to persuade her to use our company for future trips to Mars. Before we can do this, we need to understand how a letter is structured. This will need to be persuasive to try and make her understand why she should use our company for the tours. Let’s have a look at an example of a persuasive letter below related to a different topic…

Now you have read the text, you might have noticed it contains a variety of conjunctions. Conjunctions are really important in persuasive letters as we need to be able to extend our sentences. Have a go at the conjunction activity below, where you are putting the correct conjunction in the missing gap. All the different conjunctions are at the bottom. Do not use any more than once.

Today, we are going to start our new Adventure, which is called Space 2121. You should first of all read through the ‘Introduction slides,’ which will tell you what this Adventure is going to be about. When you have done this, you need think of a name for your space company as well as design a logo for it. You should do this on the worksheet called ‘Space 2121 Name and Logo.’ As this is also taking place in 100 years time, you need to think about what life will be like then. Using the link called ‘What is life like now’ you should come up with some ideas of what these things might be like in 100 years time. You might want to write down your ideas but you might prefer to draw them instead.

Today, we are going to do our 2nd home learning Editing lesson. This will be based on a diary of a Tudor Maid. Firstly, you should read through the PowerPoint called ‘Editing,’ which explains what we are going to be doing today. You will also find the ‘Diary example’ on the link below, which you need to read through too. Once you have done this, there are some questions to answer about the diary. You will find these on the link called ‘WAGOLL questions’ and these should be answered in full.

Today, we are going to write our commentary for the Jousting event we have planned. All the details about what to do are on the PowerPoint below called 'Jousting.' You can use all the other resources from this week to help you do this. Try and make these really exciting, after all it was one of the biggest Tudor sports of its time!

Today, we are going to be looking at the well-known Tudor sport called Jousting. You should read all about the sport in the PowerPoint called ‘Jousting.’ After you have done this, you should come up with a plan for a piece of Writing that you will do tomorrow. The writing will be a Commentary of a Jousting event. All the details are in the PowerPoint and you can use the ‘Jousting Commentary Plan’ link to help you put your plan together.

This week, we are going to look at how to write a commentary. You should read the PowerPoint below called ‘Commentary PowerPoint’ where you will learn a bit more about how ‘talk’ plays a huge part when writing one. There is also a commentary example for you to read through on the link called ‘Match Transcript.’ After you have read this, open the link called ‘Commentary Questions’ and answer these based on what you have read.

Today, we are going to do our first home learning editing lesson. This will be based on a piece of writing (a letter) from our current Adventure which has been given an E3 in the marking (it will need to be taught again). You are going to be the teacher today and are going to think about how the work could be changed. Have a look at the ‘Editing lesson’ link below which will explain everything you need to do. There is also a link of the ‘letter example’ which was the original piece of work that was given the E3.

Later this week, we will be writing an Advert to persuade someone to buy a Tudor House. Before we do this though, we need to learn more about them. Read the PowerPoint below called ‘tudor houses.’ Once you have done this, you need to use this information to design your own Tudor House. You should draw a picture of this and write a little description about its features. Use the link called ‘tudor design sheet’ to do this.

Today, we are going to finish our Newspaper Report about the Battle of Bosworth. Read through the PowerPoint below as it has some information to help you. You might also want to go back to Friday’s lesson and use the links from that to help you as well.

Friday 8th January 2021

Today, we are going to write a Newspaper Report about the Battle of Bosworth. You will find all the information about what to do on the link ‘Rise of Tudors, Battle of Bosworth.’ There is also a link to the Usain Bolt text we looked at yesterday, which you can use to help you structure this. We are going to do this over 2 days so only do the introduction and the first paragraph today. The other paragraphs we will finish on Monday, today is more learning about the Battle and making a start to the report.
