We had a visit from a very naughty white rabbit. He left a jar of mushrooms that said “eat me!” We debated for a long time whether or not we should eat them. Miss Cunningham decided to try herself and suddenly she shrank! Have a look at us having a taste below.

Our writing hook this week was planting our own seeds ready to grow some cress in Science. We will be putting our pots in different locations, changing different variables.
Have a look at our final instructions for how to grow a cress plant. We wrote predictions about which plant will grow the best in different conditions - we changed the light and water to see what happens.
We have been tracking the weather in Chestnut class and have written our own predictions for the next week. We are looking forward to longer, sunnier days!
This week we received a letter from the Queen of Hearts along with a gift of duckling eggs! We accepted the gift and we can’t wait to watch the ducklings hatch and grow.

The children have been observing their cress growing over the last 3 weeks. The children have found out that light makes leaves green and no light makes leaves yellow. The most successful cress plant was the plant that had light and water. The children’s predictions were correct.
Today we had a mad hatter’s tea party for our final writing this half term. Tomorrow the children will be writing a setting description of the occasion!
