We have been looking at place value this half term. We have been focusing on the value of each digit and starting to develop our mathematical language and reasoning.

We've also been looking at different methods of rounding using number lines and the rounding rap!
In Chapter 2, we moved onto looking at the column method for addition and subtraction. We used lots of equipment to help us represent the numbers and thought carefully about the language in the questions to help us (difference, altogether, total, sum).
We’ve been focusing on explaining our thinking. When talking about the 9 times tables, we thought about 2 multiples, an interesting multiple and one which people think is a multiple but isn’t. Listen to some of our thoughts below!
