EYFS

The children in Early Years have been enjoying the musical areas in their provision. The Curiosity Approach allows the children to explore Music through the use of real-life instruments and ‘playing’ opportunities. Instruments include a piano, guitar, drums and percussive instruments.

We have been clapping syllable patterns. We drew pictures of 1 syllable, 2 syllable and 3 syllable animals and then used them to make our own clapping patterns.

We then used children who had names with 1 syllable, 2 syllable and 3 syllable. We made clapping patterns using the children's names.

Early Years have been working really hard at finding the pulse in music. They have focused on Pat-A-Cake this half-term and have clapped to the pulse as well as use the glocks to tap along. They now have a good understanding that pulse is the heartbeat of the song.
