Maths
In year 5, we follow Maths No Problem.
We begin each lesson with a counting warm up (practising our times tables), followed by some arithmetic problems.
Our lesson in then structured with: In Focus task, Let's learn activity, Guided Practice questions and then an independent work book activity. Children are then able to deepen their learning and understanding with a Journaling task.
In our Mayan adventure, we also looked at how Mayans represented numbers. We used our knowledge to work out the answers to some simple sums, and then even had a go at writing some of our own questions!
We have been investigating fractions!
We created our own presentations to the rest of the class, telling them all that we can remember.

We have moved on to looking at geometry, focusing on angles. We have learnt how to use a protractor to accurately measure different sized angles.
