Provision
At Westwood we believe in letting our year one children explore things through the art of play. We use provision to enable the gap between reception and year one. By doing this it means that the children do not have to have formal learning straight away when starting.
Look at all of the amazing things we do in our provision areas. We like to paint flowers, make buildings from lego bricks, create our own thoughts and have a good time doing so!
We have had lots of fun in our new role play area, a garden center! We love planting our own flowers and pretending that we work there!
We know how important phonics is in Year One so when we get time we love playing on Phonics Bloom. We have to guess what the picture is and then write the word.
