Events in School

MacMillan

Because of the new rules this year and not being able to mix bubbles, we were disappointed not to have our usual Macmillan Coffee Morning and bake sale.

Fortunately, we were not left cakeless and the children brought in a donation so they could have a slice and juice in class.

(Getting them not to eat the cake before we took these photos was one of the toughest challenges I think we've ever faced in Willow!)

Anti-Bullying Week

In Willow we have made a pledge to do everything we can to stop bullying in our school!

Mental Health Awareness Day

On Friday 9th October, Westwood took a day off timetable to take part in Mental Health Awareness Day.

Each class took time to do activities based around improving our mental health.

As the children all arrived at school, they all had some mindfulness colouring which helped them to relax and focus ready for the day.

Another arty activity was based around the Charlie Mackesy book

The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and the Horse.

The children also took part in some Mindfulness Yoga which is good for keeping the mind and body strong.

Wizard of Oz

Each year at Westwood, we have a trip to the theatre for each Key Stage. Unfortunately this year that has been unable to happen.

Instead, we had a company come into school and set up a MASSIVE screen in the hall where they showed a recorded performance of The Wizard of Oz.

Christmas Jumper Day

December 10th was Christmas Jumper Day as well as Christmas Dinner Day at Westwood!

Christmas Party

On the last Thursday before the Christmas holidays, Willow and Sycamore had their Christmas Partys.

As the Year 6s missed out on doing the talent show at Ingleborough, we decided to hold one as part of their Christmas party! Below you can see some of the acts that took part.

Attendance Prize: Christmas Crafts

After the school reached their attendance target, the children were treated to a morning of crafts on the last day before Christmas.
