Friday 5th March

Friday 5th March 2021
We've made it to the end of remote learning!!! You have all been fabulous and I am so proud of you all. Today is our last day at home with live lessons, having to copy out worksheets and not see all of our friends! We'll be doing all the normal lessons today and assembly for one last time - before we welcome you all back to school on Monday! I'll be in school this afternoon getting the classroom ready for your return on Monday - so if I'm a bit slower with emails, I'll reply this evening!

Guided Reading - live on Teams at 10.30am

For our final reading lesson from home, today we're going to check your understanding of the chapter we have been focussing on this week about Willy Wonka and his workers. Attached are some questions for you to have a go at - there are a lot! Choose 4 questions from each page - don't do them all, and write your answers in full sentences.

Adventure - anytime

Today - you're going to make some CHOCOLATE!! Follow the video below to show you how to do it. You will need:

- Chocolate of your choice (you could mix flavours together to make a marble effect bar)

- Sweets you'd like to use as the toppings

- Mould (jelly mould, ice cube trays work, or on Amazon you can buy a chocolate bar mould)

You need to melt the chocolate and stir in any of the toppings you'd like on it (I'm putting midget gems in mine). Then, put it in the fridge to set for a few hours. Send us some pictures of you doing it and the finished products! A nice way to end our time at home!

Spelling test - anytime

Please click the link below to complete this week's spelling test.

Writing - live on Teams at 1pm

We're going to finish our non-chronological report today! We have wrote the title, introduction, heading 1 and the facts, heading 2 and we presented that one as a table instead of a paragraph, and then today we are going to write the final heading and the conclusion.

Today, I'd like you to write about Fair-trade. This is going to be our heading and then the information which follows it is going to be about fair-trade. On the live lesson, we will write one together using all of this weeks challenge SPAG objectives:

fronted adverbials

commas in a list

coordinating conjunctions

Use the one we write together as a basis to give you some ideas, then I'd like you to write your conclusion. Summarise everything you've told the reader about chocolate and wrap it up with a nice conclusion at the end. Then, you could go back and add in any pictures or diagrams to make your report look more attractive and make sure it has everything which we discussed on our checklist on Monday.

Maths - live on Teams at 9.30am

You have all been amazing at home this half term - I am so proud and impressed with how far you guys have come as my maths group - we've got through so much and we're getting so much better at the key concepts of maths which we need to move on! For our final day at home, we're going to have another look at 3 times tables and use the facts we know to help us find out the facts we don't know - I'll explain it more in the live lesson and there is a video below of me demonstrating it too.
