This half term our adventure is following a book I'm sure you're all familiar with- 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. We will be meeting the different characters throughout the book and exploring where they are from in Geography and their journey in the factory. We will start the adventure by writing an invitation to the factory as Mr Wonka has been in touch and asked us to help him do so (he doesn't think the golden tickets are enough). I hope you're as excited for our adventure as we are! I'm sure you are, who isn't excited about chocolate?

Welcome back Oak Class! We are so excited to have you all back and cannot wait to start our new adventure with you. We have lots of interesting and exciting lessons planned so I hope you are all looking forward to it too. We will keep this website updated with all of the fun learning that will be taking place in Oak class.

Important information for Oak Class:

PE: Year 4’s and 5's will have P.E every Monday morning as well as year 4 having swimming this half term (unless told otherwise). Please ensure your child brings an indoor and weather appropriate outdoor P.E kit with them and this will stay at school until half term. Year 4 will have swimming on Monday's and will need to ensure they have an appropriate kit for this.

Reading Books: Children will be given a new reading book each Friday and are to return their current reading book along with their reading record to school each Tuesday. They also now have a bug club login that they are able to use whenever they please. This provides the children with a variety of books and questions to accompany them, encouraging them to continue reading even after they have returned their book to school.

Homework: Children will receive two pieces of homework each Friday, ranging in a variety of different things regarding our current adventure and will be returned on Thursday.

Spellings: Children will receive a set of spellings on a Friday in which they will keep for two weeks. They will be tested on these twice (each Thursday) before a new set is then given to them. Please practice these spellings with your child at home.

Times Tables: Year 4 have a times table test at the end of the year so it is important that they practice! They will be given their very own times table rockstars account and also a times table book to take home with them and return every Thursday.

Oak Class made a pledge to say, 'NO!' to bullying for anti-bullying week!
