This half term our adventure is following a book called 'The Abominables' which links to our adventure 'Moving Mountains'. We will begin the adventure by following Lucy, Clarence and Ambrose on Mount Everest and then throughout the book we will look at different mountain ranges across the world. From there we will be learning all about maps, rocks and pilgrimages. I hope you're as excited for our adventure as we are!
Who wouldn't be excited about a bunch of mysterious Yeti's?

Welcome back Oak Class! We are so excited to have you all back and cannot wait to start our new adventure with you. We have lots of interesting and exciting lessons planned so I hope you are all looking forward to it too. We will keep this website updated with all of the fun learning that will be taking place in Oak class.

Important information for Oak Class:

PE: Year 4’s will have swimming every Monday morning as well as year 5's having P.E with Mr Cooper . Please ensure your child brings an indoor and weather appropriate outdoor P.E kit with them and this will stay at school until half term. Year 4 will need to ensure they have an appropriate kit for swimming including a towel.

Reading Books: Children will be given a new reading book each Friday and are to return their current reading book along with their reading record to school each Tuesday. They also now have a bug club login that they are able to use whenever they please. This provides the children with a variety of books and questions to accompany them, encouraging them to continue reading even after they have returned their book to school.

Homework: Children will receive two pieces of homework each Friday, ranging in a variety of different things regarding our current adventure and will be returned on Thursday.

Spellings: Children will receive a set of spellings on a Friday in which they will keep for two weeks. They will be tested on these twice (each Thursday) before a new set is then given to them. Please practice these spellings with your child at home.

Times Tables: Year 4 have a times table test at the end of the year so it is important that they practice! They will be given their very own times table rockstars account and also a times table book to take home with them and return every Thursday.
