Writing
When we dived into the Lost Lagoon we can across a cute little starfish named Peach. She was very clever and kind, this made us think why don't we invite her along on our quest to find the treasure chest? The more brains we have, the more likely we are to find it.
Today I would like you to write an invitation to Peach asking her to join our journey around the Island. I would like you to include the word 'because' to help persuade Peach to come with us. Make sure the children are spelling 'red words' correctly (words that can't be sounded out), using capital letters and full stops.
E.g.
Dear Peach
I would like to invite you to join our crew to find the missing treasure chest. It would be good to have you with us because you are very clever and we need help.
Please meet us at 7 oclock at the Lost Lagoon
I hope you can come with us.
From Miss Cunningham
p.s. We will make sure we feed you clams and oysters to keep you happy.
Maths
The children are now learning how to represent a number sentence (adding or subtracting) using a bar model. The top bar represents the total, then the 2 bars beneath represent the 2 numbers that are added together. Begin by reading the word problem then ask do I need to add or subtract (takeaway)? Build the number sentence together then put this into a bar model.
Question 3 and 4 requires the children to write the number sentence and then draw a bar model to represent the number sentence.

Geography
We have been learning all about the continents, have a go at our continent song below. Today I would like you to learn about the equator, this is an invisible line that runs round the centre of the earth. The closer you are to the equator, the hotter the climate is. Have a look at the video I have done for you below:
