Outdoor Learning

When learning about mass and weight, the children in Year Two went outside for a scavenger hunt! The children had challenges they had to complete like finding a stick as close to 25g as possible and comparing the weight of a rock and a stick using heavier/lighter.

Year 3 and 4 took their journaling tasks outside. First, they had a rounding challenge: Dave (our maths character) set up 4 different corners in the school playground – 1, 2, 3 and 4. He then shouted a number that contained ones and tenths. The children then had to round it to the nearest whole number and run to the correct corner.

Then, Dave and Ace (our PE character) were working together to sort out the PE equipment for a game but they needed the children's help. They had 25 cones to share out equally between 10 children. Using the cones, the children helped them solve this problem.
