Maths:

We are continuing with long division this week. I understand that some of your have been finding this tricky but hopefully the practice is helping. Today we will be mainly focusing on the bus shelter method rather than the partitioning method and we will be looking at 3-digit numbers with a remainder. The number left at the bottom of the expanded method is the remainder. Please send me your work through so that you have a chance of getting good work this week!

Guided reading:

Today we are going to be giving the instructions for the Iron Man another go. Read through chapter 5 of the Iron Man to help you. As you can see, the Iron Man has allowed himself to be taken to pieces and we need to put him back together how he should be so we need to use our visualisation skills to write some instructions. Once you have read the text, put the muddled instructions in the correct order. Once you have done that, I would like you to write a set of your own instructions for a robot using the Iron Man instructions as a guide.

Writing:

In writing today you are going to be practising your handwriting and spelling. We are going to be concentrating on the suffix -tion so I thought we could link this in with our handwriting. I would first like you to practice the letters -tion as this is the focus and then you can practice the word 'instructions' as this is our writing genre for the week. Once you have done your handwriting, I would like you to follow the presentation and write down the spellings that are on the slide which include the suffix. You will then do a look, cover, write, check activity. Please make sure you send me your work.

Adventure:

Today you are going to either make American style pancakes or a native American headdress. The instructions for both are underneath with a video included. Make sure you take pictures at each stage of the making process as this will help you with your instructions in writing.

It looks like everyone had fun in home learning D.T!
