UKS2 have been learning about different components of fitness including speed, stamina, strength, coordination, balance and agility. They conducted a baseline assessment of each component of fitness, then used that to help them focus on where they might need to make the most improvements. We looked at different ways that each component could be trained and worked on these each week. We also discussed how, to see a bigger improvement, training would need to be carried out regularly over a length of time. The children carried out the fitness tests again and looked to see where they had improved and where they might want to continue to improve by further training.
