Roald Dahl Day

Roald Dahl Day started with an assembly for the whole school where teachers and children both competed in several challenges based on his books.
For Mr Ashford's activity, we had to take part in several challenges based on Matilda: The Trunchbull Javelin, Sorting Matilda's Anagrams and The Bruce Bogtrotter Chocolate Challenge.
With Mrs Partridge, we went up on the field and had to use materials we could find outside to make (and label) The Gruncher from The Minpins.
With Mrs Oldroyd, we did some science based around James and the Giant Peach. We looked at which materials might create enough friction to slow a peach and stop it rolling away. We started by making a prediction before heading outside to do a few experiments on the field.
