Adventure 4: Mars Day

On 18th March, we took a day off time table to celebrate Mars Day and join in with lots of online workshops.

We even came into school dressed for the occasion!

The first workshop was an interview with British astronaut, Tim Peak, who told us all about his experiences in space.

In the Robokids workshop, we were introduced to a robot called Neo (who we learned how to program) and learned about how robots are being used in space exploration.

Sue Home from the UK Space Agency asked for help with Aurora - a project for sending robots into space as well as deciding where the mission should land on Mars.

We also looked at how robots will be sent to Mars ahead of humans to construct structures for them when they arrive.

We were even treated to Neo dancing for us and we helped program him to exercise, eat, bush his teeth and go to the toilet.

Between workshops we did some Mars themed Maths and Reading

We also had a variety of space themed art work to do.
