Changes through the Ages
Changes in Britain from the Stone Age to Iron Age
The Lower Key Stage 2 children were shocked to find there was a caveman living on the school fields. Grugg made a visit to school and taught the children about his way of living and hunting.
The children also got to take part in a Changes through the Ages workshop at Leeds Discovery Centre and explore the storage facilities there.
Lots of immersive, cross-curricular learning took place including meeting a caveman and having the opportunity to build different settlements.
Egypt Explorers
The achievements of the earliest civilizations – an overview of where and when the first civilizations appeared and a depth study of one of Ancient Egypt
The children enjoyed a virtual visit from Leeds City Museum where they got to meet the Leeds Mummy and find out all about life in Ancient Egypt. We brought the museum to school and the children got the feel the 'brain' and smell the different organs.
