We were very lucky to welcome a local artist into school on Friday to work with some children in KS1 and UKS2. Zöe came into school and gave us an illustration lesson linked to our adventures. UKS2 had a workshop creating wildlife illustrations and KS1 had a workshop creating jungle animal illustrations.
The children were mesmerised, listening intently before having a go at exploring the techniques demonstrated to create their own illustration. They explored using and then combining different media to create their creatures.
This included charcoal, colouring pencils, felt tip pens, watercolours and sketching pencils.
The end results were fantastic! The children enjoyed it so much and couldn't say enough positive comments about their experience. They asked when she was coming back and could they have a longer workshop!
Some of the feedback from our UKS2 children!
We were thrilled that she stayed and presented our Art Gallery assembly so we could showcase the other artwork we had been doing throughout the rest of school!
