Preservation
Whilst looking at the Mayans, we found out that a lot of artefacts had been preserved, allowing us to investigate them. We wanted to see what would be the best condition to preserve something. We used a piece of cut up apple, placing it in different conditions: Air, water and salt water.
We left them in there over the weekend, and checked back the following week to see which condition had preserved it the best.
Light
As part of our science topic ‘light’, we looked at the famous scientist Thomas Edison and his invention of the lightbulb. To link to our topic, we created a shadow puppet show based upon Thomas Edison’s life.

Electricity
As part of our topic of ‘Electiricty’ we looked at how electricity is created by using circuits. We had fun making our own circuits and testing to see whether things like the number of cells, bulbs and wires can affect the flow of the electricity. We also looked at different materials and whether they were conductors or insulators.
