Dream, Believe, Achieve?

Through our Languages curriculum children have the opportunity to gain confidence in a language different to the one they speak at home. While we choose to teach Spanish here at Westwood we do so hoping to give children the confidence to try another language. Something which many grown ups from all backgrounds and places may be fearful of. By opening the door to learning new languages we aim not only to bring joy and skilled communication but to open the door to new friendships, new places and new dreams.

Our community here at Westwood is becoming more diverse but for many young people visiting places beyond Leeds or Yorkshire can be hard to imagine. With our strong roots here in Middleton we have a lot to be proud of locally, through learning languages we aim to make sure we are encouraging our young people to be proud citizens of the world. Unlimited and free to explore as near or as far as they wish.
