Spring 1 & 2: Tremendous Tudors

Tudor times
Today we went back to the Tudor times with the fantastic Catherine who spoke about all the different artefacts for the rich and poor. We learnt how they used counting boards to work out the Latin numbers and how to play Nine men’s morris board. In class we learnt how to use a Quill pen and ink and wrote some fantastic pieces. In the afternoon we played more Tudor games such as Shovel board and did some code breaking. We finished it all off with some simple Tudor dancing.

Tudor Entertainment

Today in upper KS2 we had a fascinating afternoon learning about different Tudor entertainment such as Jousting, Juggling and performing a part in the Macbeth play. We started off in Rowan class learning to juggle which was very hard but with plenty of practise we mastered it. After juggling we went to Sycamore to do some acting to Macbeth where groups were split up and three were the witches and three were the noises such as wind, owls and howling dogs. After our fantastic play performances, we headed outside to do some jousting which was definitely a very fun, competitive end to the day.
