Newby Wiske Residential
In September, we headed to Newby Wiske for a fabulous 3 days at PGL. We had an amazing time doing lots of different activities like giant swing, zip wire, climbing, aqua park and so much more! We loved it so much and we can’t wait to go on our Year 6 Residential next year!

Knife Crime Awareness
UKS2 had an assembly from the St Gile’s Trust to talk about Knife Crime Awareness. The children were very engaged and had lots of questions for our speaker.
Buckden House Residential
On Monday 16th December, Year 6 travelled all the way to Buckden House for their residential at Buckden House. We did so many fantastic activities like caving, high ropes, ghyll scrambling, hiking and lots more. We had a fabulous time and didn't want to leave!
Today we had a visit from the Leeds Rhinos rugby league player James Bentley. Rowan were very excited about the visit and had plenty of questions to ask him and he was very happy to answer. Thank you James Bentley for visiting our class today.
D-Side Visit
We had a lovely visitor Dave come in from D-side to talk to our year 5 and year 6 about smoking and vaping. Dave went through and explained how cigarettes and vapes can affect our health in so many ways. The children did an activity to help them understand the pro’s and con’s about vaping and what the long term effects would be for teenagers.
Valentines Disco
Author Kate Pankhurst
Our KS2 had a fantastic visit from the lovely Author Kate Pankhurst who is a British writer and Illustrator. Kate Pankhurst spoke about her amazing series of children books and spoke a lot about Space. Kate also got some of the children to dress up of the characters from her books which all the children enjoyed. The children did a draw along with Kate Pankhurst and we had some very good imaginations and fantastic pieces.

Red Nose Day for Comic Relief
On Friday morning Rowan,Sycamore and Willow all went to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and what a fantastic time we all had. It was nice to see all the children enjoying the outdoors and admiring the different sculptures and wildlife.
